Jackson Memorial Joins Memorial Healthcare In Administering COVID Vaccines

More than a handful of Jackson Memorial Hospital frontline caregivers have received the COVID-19 vaccine just about an hour after the Miami facility received its shipment of about 20,000 doses.

Memorial Healthcare System in Broward is planning to inoculated more than 500 workers by the end of the day.

Memorial's Dr. Kiesha Raphael was one of the first in the state to receive hers yesterday.

She says her arm is pretty sore, but she hasn't felt any other side effects yet. She believes that may happen in three weeks when she returns for her second dose.

She wants residents, when they get the opportunity to get the shot, to take advantage of it so we can prevent more deaths and get to a new normal.
