Senate Votes Kavanaugh For Supreme Court Justice

By a bare majority, the United States Senate votes to make D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Kavanaugh the newest associate Justice for the U.S. Supreme Court. After many protesters decended on our nation's capitol and final speeches were given on the Senate floor by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell the vote was taken. Senator Lisa Murkowski, originally the only Republican no vote on Kavanaugh, instead voting present so that Senator Steve Daines could be in Montana for his daughter's wedding instead of having to remain in Washington D.C. to cast a tie breaking vote. Senator Joe Manchin, of West Virginia was the one Democrat to vote in favor of Kavanaugh. Protesters interrupted Vice President Mike Pence as he was calling the chamber to order. The final vote, 50-48 in favor. For more, click here
