Florida Man Who Stabbed Mother To Death Found Incompetent To Stand Trial

A Tallahassee man accused of stabbing and killing his mother at a local hospital won't stand trial for murder, at least not yet.

Twenty-two-year-old Alexander Sparks underwent three different psychological evaluations and two of the doctors concluded that he is incompetent to stand trial because of mental illness and delusions.

As a result, he was committed on Tuesday to the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Sparks told police he killed his mom on February 23rd because she was a "negative influence."
