Judge Allows Parkland Shooting Suspect's Brother To Move To Virginia

A judge has granted Zacahry Cruz, the brother of accused Parkland school shooter Nikolas Cruz, permission to move to Virginia for a full-time job.

The attorney for 18-year-old Zachary filed a motion Thursday saying Cruz had been offered a free home and full-time job for one year in Staunton, Virginia.

Judge Brown on Friday approved the request, on the condition that all probation restrictions continue to apply even though Cruz will be out of state.

He is currently serving six months’ of probation for trespassing on Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School property and needs court permission to leave.

Zachary Cruz will be hired as a maintenance mechanic paying $13 an hour.

His job and living quarters will be provided by Nexus Services, which specializes in helping people adjust after prison or treatment.

Zachary's brother Nikolas Cruz faces the death penalty if convicted of the Feb. 14 shooting at Stoneman Douglas that killed 17 people.
