Unemployment Rates Are Dropping In The U.S.

The number of Americans filing for unemployment unexpectedly fell last week.

The Labor Department reported on Thursday initial claims for unemployment benefits fell by 9,000 to a seasonally adjusted 221,000 for the week ending February 3rd.

Most economists predicted claims rising to 232,000.

U.S. jobless claims remain near a 45-year low.
