Broward Parents Have A Decision To Make By Tonight

South Florida children don't have to stick to the public schools within their designated boundaries.

Broward Public Schools Demographics & Student Assignments Department Director Patrick Sipple says because, "it's difficult enough going through school as it is, but certainly making those future life decisions it's really quite an opportunity to be able to be a part of many of the programs that might be geared toward a student's specific interests."

That's why the district offers STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), International Baccalaureate and Cambridge magnet schools, Nova schools or general school reassignment. But the online application deadline for the next school year is tonight just before midnight.  Status notifications will be released next month.

Sipple says a second window will open on May 1st, but there will be far fewer seats open during that period.
