New Wawa Opens In Parkland, Offers Free Coffee

Wawa is continuing its takeover of South Florida, with its newest location opening Thursday in Parkland.

The convenience store and gas station began grand opening celebrations at 8 a.m. for the new 6,119-square-foot store at 7705 N. State Road 7.

There was a ribbon cutting and a charitable hoagie building competition between the Broward County Sheriff's Office and the Coral Springs Fire Department.

The store is also offering free coffee through Oct. 15.

Wawa's Parkland location marks the chain's 28th store opening in 2017.

Wawa CEO Chris Gheysens previously said he wants 100 stores in South Florida, and that by the end of the year, Wawa aims to open more than 50 new stores, including 30 in Florida.

Each store creates about 40 jobs.
