Attorney General Bondi Sheds Light On Price Gouging Amid Irma Impact

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi says she will not tolerate any attempts to take advantage of people buying hurricane supplies ahead of Hurricane Irma.

At a press conference Thursday, Bondi vowed to go after businesses that attempt any form of price gouging.

As Florida stores run out of food and water supplies, many residents are turning to online vendors, where prices are unusually high.

One Amazon shopper tweeted a photo of a 24-count pack of water bottles being sold for $40!

Amazon denied price-gouging accusations, blaming third-party vendors using their site.

Similarly, airlines are being accused of hiking up prices.

Delta responded to the claims Thursday morning by capping airfares to and from South Florida to $399 through September 13th.
