Miami-Dade County has issued a mandatory evacuation order for the City of Miami Beach beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday.
Miami Beach businesses and residents should evacuate to a relative or friend's home at a safer location.
For those unable to make necessary accommodations, a list of open shelter locations can be accessed here. There are no hurricane shelters located in Miami Beach.

Bus transportation to evacuation shelters on the mainland will be provided by Miami-Dade County. County transit buses will provide transportation to these shelters from 21 different locations and cease operations and evacuations three hours prior to the estimated arrival of tropical storm force winds.
Municipal parking garages will be available for residents to safeguard their vehicles.

Following the storm, Miami-Dade County and the City of Miami Beach will work together to determine a full or phased re-entry based on initial damages.
Miami Beach Police will be monitoring re-entry into the city once the storm passes. Residents must provide a proof of residency with a state ID and/or utility bill for re-entry.
