'Puppy Mills' No Longer Allowed in the City of Miami

The sale of dogs from puppy mills now banned in the City of Miami.  It was a 4-1 vote by commissioners Thursday in favor of the new law.

Commissioner Ken Russell was behind the legislation.

“I’m proud of our City for passing this legislation,” Russell said. “This ordinance will give our residents some assurance that they are getting a healthy pet. It will promote the adoption of rescued animals. And it shows that Miami is a progressive city with a heart.

Miami joins nearly 250 local municipalities across the United States that have enacted similar pet store regulations.
