The investigation began April 26. Strushie, a cat who resided in and around The Franklin Hotel at 860 Collins Avenue was struck twice with a crossbow. The injuries sustained proved to be irreparable and Strushie was euthanized by a veterinarian.

Investigators believe key surveillance video from the Franklin Hotel was deliberately deleted, but with the help of the Secret Service, they were able to identify Lollias.

“It is a great relief that we have found some level of justice for Strushie,” said Chief Daniel Oates. “This was a horrific act of animal cruelty. I congratulate our detectives on this arrest and the U.S. Secret Service for the critical assistance they provided to us.”

The investigation into this matter continues, and other arrests may be possible in the future.
