Man Shot While AAA Worker Changed His Car Battery in Little Haiti, Suspects At Large

A gunshot victim is recovering after an attempted robbery Monday.

The male victim and two others finished eating lunch at Philly Grub, located at 99 NW 54th Street in Miami's Little Haiti district, when authorities say they walked out to find their car wouldn't start.

As a AAA worker changed the dead battery in the man's Mercedes, two young men who had their faces covered approached the group. Miami Police say at least one of the suspects had a gun.

One of the three was shot and rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital and is expected to survive. The AAA worker was not injured and didn’t see the shooting, police said.

The suspected perpetrators were not found.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
