State Joins Minimum Wage Lawsuit Against Miami Beach

The lawsuit against the City of Miami Beach for mandating a minimum wage hike now includes the state.

Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine is speaking out against the lawsuit slapped on the city.  The mayor says Governor Scott isn't thinking about the taxpayers.

"The businesses should be paying a fair wage so that everyone can live and not have to depend on the government.  So I guess on one hand the governor feels that the businesses shouldn't pay, that the taxpayers should pay," said Mayor Levine.

The mandate would raise the minimum wage from the current state level of $8.05 to $13.41 cents over a period of four years.
